Full Feature and interview in Foundry Magazine

Bloggers: (from Left to Right) Olivia Lopez, Edward Honaker, Tim Melideo, Zoe Flood (me), Bethany Struble, Yoshi Sudarso, Jenny Ong, KayKay Blaisdell, Amber Saylor, Peter Adrian.

Hello everyone! Quick post I want to do before everyone is gone to coachella! (Not me unfortunately…) in January, I had shot for this editorial/style feature for Foundry Magazine. It also featured many of my good blogger friends as well! It’s really interesting reading the others interviews or quotes since we did them all separately! I really enjoyed reading Olivia’s, she just has a way with words ☆〜(ゝ。∂). Mine is ok, but you should check it out any ways here. One thing I find really interesting is that 6 out of 10 bloggers talked about bullying/harassment online. (Me being one of them) its a sad thing, but I’m sort of glad I’m not the only one. Haha.

Anyways I hope you like the feature and the magazine! I hope everyone is having an amazing week!

So these photos are sort of old, but not that old. I just had not gotten to posting them until now! (ll゚ω゚) life has been so busy and hectic sometimes I forget about things. But it doesn’t mean I don’t appreciate those things or people. That being said, I love Michelle and her photography! And I’m happy to finally share this now! It was really hot that day when we shot this and I didn’t have anything to drink or eat, and it was about 4pm? (I always forget or get too busy) and I almost fainted! Now I make sure to always eat or drink something before a shoot, I felt really sick ((( ゚д゚ ;) )) . Haha, sorry just wanted to add that story! Hope everyone is having a good week! And with the hot weather coming on make sure you all stay hydrated!!!

20130415-225159.jpg

This dress I originally got at the thrift store for about 4$ (size 16)

So I sketched out what I would have liked to made (too bad I didn’t have enough fabric ;_; )

This is the final product! What do you think?? (^∇^)

Outfit Details…

Pink Dress: Thrifted and altered, society of Saint Vincent DePaul thrift store, 4$
Cherry blossom headband: Creature of Habit
Cream Heels: santee alley, 15$

Photos by: Honey Honey Photography (Emma Rolos)

Hello everyone! So who went to coachella? (Not I >.

Anyways!!! About this outfit! This was another outfit I styled on myself for the Creature of Habit lookbook I modeled in! I was really glad to use this dress since I recently just altered it specifically to feature on my blog! It fit so well with the headband and the cherry blossoms! *・゜゚・*:.。..。.:*・’(*゚▽゚*)’・*:.。. .。.:*・゜゚・*

I love how simplistic this headband is, I’m kind of wearing it wrong in some photos though…(; ̄O ̄)but I think it suits my style pretty well! I don’t like overbearing things, I like how delicate and sweet it is! You can wear it with a lot of different outfits that way, and it’s still an accessory that stands out from most! Plus it’s pink, god dammit I love pink… (>人<;)

Well I hope you all like my photos and everything and that you all are having a great week!!!

Hello everyone! I hope you all have been having an amazing week!! I have to say, I’m pretty impressed with myself! I’ve been keeping up my blog fairly well the past 2 months! Before it was almost like one post per month >.

So I went and shot this with my good friend Sylvia out in old town Pasadena. We discovered that behind the shops on Holly Street is this super cute court yard and it had the most amazing light!!! I'm so happy we found it! I really love the lighting in these photos! I had this dress from a year ago ( see previous post ) It was given to me by Chicwish.com and I thought it was so pretty! I just never ever ever wear maxi length dresses and skirts… I feel like the previous post fell short, of course Yuna did a great job with photos as per usual, but I just don’t like me in that dress (*`へ´*)…. So I cut it short! (Maybe too short?) and I love it so much! And it’s perfect for spring and summer! It was a little chilly-er that day so I wore some black tights and paired it with black shoes and my favorite hat! (Riding that black and white trend train I guess) let me know what you all think! I always love feedback! Many exciting posts to come so keep your eyes peeled!

Hey everyone! I hope everyone’s Mondays went smoothly! I got to shoot with the lovely Sylvia Gunde again yesterday! I always love seeing her! (Can’t wait to show you guys those photos! ) and then I had to drop off some pulls from shoots, and then answered emails the rest of the night… Hopefully I can get some creative stuff done today (cosplays, drawings, designs)! (>人<;). Anyways, onto my outfit! It’s been so hot lately that sheer fabrics and eyelet shorts are really a staple! I love wearing heels too with blouses that are kind of too big for me because the fabric just flows ! ~*~*~*~(^ω^)I usually don’t wear much jewelry (for fear of losing or breaking it since I constantly take it off cause its kind of uncomfortable…) but plastic jewelry is kind of perfect for me! I kind of really like the way it looks too! Sometimes it can be cheesy and gaudy but a bracelet or two I think is fine ( ´ ▽ ` )ノ. Anyways hope you all have been doing well and you like my outfit!

Hello Everyone ! Hope you all have been having a stellar week! The weather has been so strange lately, I think I’m getting a sore throat ( ;´Д`)… But I’m trying to stay a busy bee! I’m pretty proud of myself for blogging so often! I really do feel more fulfilled doing it! My goal is to do it everyday except weekends! (And on weekends I can do styling posts and inspo posts!) what do you think?

Anyways! Onto my outfit! This has become quite a uniform for me! I’ve been very inspired lately by Deanna Richmonds style (the designer/owner of Deandri) from her amazing shoes, cat hats, and all black ensembles. She embodies a very “uniform” style of dressing. I love how sylvia (once again!) captured just what i wanted/needed with this outfit! its great working with someone that just understands!! I was really excited to receive is cat hat from Ecugo.com ! I had been wanting one forever! Whenever I have a bad hair day, I just pop this sucker on and I’m instantly kawaii again! ☆〜(ゝ。∂) haha. The material is actually really nice too!! I think I’ll have this piece for a very long time, (^ω^)!!! As for the dress, Banggood.com sent me this piece and I adore it! The light weight chiffon really makes for a great piece for spring! And the classic collar and shift dress silhouette is just my favorite! The only thing, is that the lining is a little short on me… (I am 5’9″ so most things are short on me to be honest) so I usually wear it with a poly blend slip I have. I just didn’t photograph it here! (>人<;)

I hope that you all like my post! Please check out Ecugo.com and Banggood.com for more super cute styles!

Good morning everyone. I hope that you are very happy and excited for the new day! I got a piece of bad news last night… One of my favorite teachers from high school had passed away. He was my freshman English teacher, and at the time I had a lot of turmoil in my home life. I got bullied constantly, I didn’t feel like I was smart, all I focused on were my crappy manga drawings. My teacher was one of the first people to push me, to talk to me like a normal human being, to make me realize I was capable and intelligent. He had a very interesting way of teaching, and I always had a retained that impression of him. He would ask a lot of questions, and listen. When I would draw in his class, when I was done, he would ask if he could have my drawing. I would relinquish it to him and later find it hanging on the classroom wall… (And he kept them on the wall even after I graduated.) He taught me so much about real life, in his indirect ways that I wouldn’t have learned until much later. Finding out about his death, makes me think about my own mortality, and the others around me that I care about. Or even just people that left an impression on me or taught me something about life… And I realize how significant every persons time in my life is… With that being said, RIP Mr. Frey .

Anyways! Sorry for that sad tidbit. I really haven’t had anyone pass away in my life that was remotely significant, so this effected me… I hope you all understand!

About my outfit, I received this adorable blouse from Ecugo.com and I really wanted to do something cutesy/adolescent with it! The print and color really reminded me of a toadstool! So I thought that was the perfect title for this post! (Because of course I am a princess hahaha ) ( ̄◇ ̄;) . I have had these shortalls for about 2 years? (Bought them in April of 2011) I got them at this thrift shop in Anaheim called savers, and they were really cheap! I love how cute they are! But I was just waiting for the opportune time to use my shortall collection (because I really have a collection hahaha) and the timing just couldn’t be any better! I love wearing these with one strap down or both down. (I love both straps too but I also like variety! ) these are a little small, the short part is suppose to poof out a little more but my legs are too big >.

I hope I wasent too much of an earful today! (Or eyeful?) I really do hope your Thursday is going well!

Hello everyone!!! I hope you all had a wonderful weekend! I wanted to share with you all something I did about a month ago. I recently modeled for 8,000 nerves for LA Fashion week, and they showed at LAFC , so I was able to finally meet the multi talented, Kelsi Smith. She’s hilarious, charming, and of course has a great sense of style. She owns/directs 3 of her own companies (LA Fashion Council, Fash Mobs, Two Point Oh LA, and Style Smith ) as well as running her own fashion blog (Dedicated Follower of Fashion ). It was really awesome to meet her! I ended up going to her birthday party soon after and she asked me if I wanted to be a part of the asos marketplace shoot the following week. It went by so smoothly and all the other bloggers involved were so talented and sweet! I really enjoyed hanging out with everyone and seeing what amazing new designers are coming out with in Los Angeles! You should really take a look at more of the designers on the Asos Marketplace! I hope you all enjoy my post! Sorry the photos is low quality, I pulled it from the website >.>

A special thanks to Float Cafe Pasadena for letting us shoot in their amazing venue!

Hello everyone! I hope that you had a wonderful week so far! I can’t believe it’s Wednesday already! I’m so tired ( ̄ー ̄) , I spent all day at Joshua Tree yesterday on a shoot! (That’s the desert for those of you that don’t know) it’s always so so beautiful, but it was so so hot as well (>人<;) . I got to style the beautiful, Emily Ratajkowski from Ford Models and she was just so awesome! It was a really good day! (Can’t wait to show you all photos!)

Anyways, I wanted to share with you all my outfit for today! This is one of my favorite color combos! And I love to wear sweaters all year round! So it’s perfect with such a light weight skirt! I usually don’t wear long skirts but the panels make it really versatile I think! The funny thing about this sweater, I had wanted it forever, ever since I saw Lana del ray (despite my distaste for her) model it for H&M. I love angora sweaters so much! I have a lot of vintage ones, they are all blends but a high percent of angora which make them uber soft! I couldn’t find this sweater anywhere, it was sold out everywhere! And then I randomly found it at wasteland one day and I was so ecstatic! I bought it right away! I have to say, it’s uber cute, but it’s just not that soft. And I guess I should of expected that from H&M. It still makes for a really cute sweater though… Haha.

Also! Sylvia knew this super cute cafe, Float Cafe, in Pasadena so we decided to shoot there! It was soooo cute there! This alley way was all pastel! And the people who worked in the shops were so nice! I liked how it looked kind of European! The owner of Float was such a sweetheart, I was so happy to get some photos inside and around the cafe! If you all ever have the chance, you should check it out! Their root beer floats are to die for!

I hope everyone is having a wonderful week! And that it just gets better ! ☆〜(ゝ。∂)

HOORAY! It’s Friday! Hahaha finally my day off! It’s been a very crazy week! I still need to alter a bunch of stuff for a shoot I’m styling tomorrow (T ^ T)! Oh well! A lot of crazy stuff is coming up for me and I’m just so excited! (Can’t wait to share!)

Anyways, I really love this outfit! You can tell I have a love for angora sweaters (just so soft!!! |( ̄3 ̄)| ) and the little beaded bows just match so perfectly with the pink dress Banggood.com sent me!!! Of course I’m sporting my favorite deandri’s (per usual) with this kawaii outfit! The all knowing Sylvia taught me the name of the flower pictured in these pictures! They are called bougainvillea! (I never ever knew that) they make me so happy and relaxed, it’s like the epitome of spring!

On a side note, I’ve become a contributor for The Drifter and the Gypsy for the DIY hair features!! My first one was published today!

Hello everyone!!! I hope you are all doing alright! I know Thursday is ridiculous for having my first post of the week >.<. but i recently got a job at href="https://www.facebook.com/pages/Heirloom-Vintage-LA/448495781910271?ref=hl">Heirloom Vintage in little Tokyo and it is amazing! My good friend Olive hired me and my first day was Sunday and its such a cool job! I get to do all the online stuff, and I will be organizing the etsy shoots and such whist managing the store front. My boss, Masa, he is so nice too! He really trusts Olive’s and mine opinions and tastes which is really awesome. Don’t worry though! I’ll still be blogging a lot! Just was getting settled!

Also, I played some card games recently with friends, but the most vexing was defiantly poker… Whenever I played it in video games I never knew what I was doing and would only win by chance. I actually had to be taught the rules and it’s a really fun game! You have to be really good with math (which is not my strong suit) and have a good memory! There are actually a lot of proficient women poker players like stylish poker diva Liz Lieu . It’s really such an interesting “sport” or game I guess more so. But it really takes a lot of skill to be good at o.O . Here’s to more fun nights with drinks and card games!

I want to thank Banggood.com for this adorable sweater! The little pink flowers make any outfit so adorable! I love bubble skirts as well so I thought it was a great pairing! my aunt Michelle gave me this skirt about 4 years ago and it was really long. So I shortened it to make it more bubbly! I accidentally washed it one day and it’s wool so it shrunk ALOT so it’s almost an impossible size to wear or style with. I have a really small waist luckily, but thankfully it’s poofy for my big hips >.

Anyways I hope you all have been having a great week! Some secret and exciting things are happening for me soon! So happy and excited!

“Miss Macross” What does it mean? And why do I use it?

So, I get asked a lot by my readers, business aquantinces, friends and family what “Miss Macross” means. (If you follow my Instagram, tumblr or Facebook cosplay page you’ve seen the name used.) . And I always just say “Oh it’s an anime thing…” And it’s usually enough for people to stop asking. There is actually a whole story behind the usage of the name and. Kind of want to clear the air today and enlighten you all on “why”.

I always knew about the series “Robotech” growing up, but it was about 10 years before my generation, and my dad was the real fan of it. When I was 16, I started dating my ex who was 7years older than me. He also really loved anime, manga and Japanese culture (but still really liked fashion, art and film as well). He had the big “Macross” (the Japanese “Robotech” which is essentially the same, but the story differs quite a bit sometimes) box set that was the first release on DVD. So he essentially introduced me to the series and we watched it all over a month.

It’s a really confusing and long story line, so I’ll spare the details. But basically, the three main characters are Rick Hunter, Lynn Minmay and Lisa Hayes. Rick is a pilot of a fighter jet/mech, Lisa is a sort of coordinator for the fighter jets, and Minmay is a newly discovered singer/actress on the SDF 1 Ship. Basically, Minmay entered a sort of beauty pageant aboard the ship called “the Miss Macross Contest” in where she won by her singing ability, which in turn becomes a detrimental part in saving the human race from the zentradi. (Ok too many details) anyways, Rick has a certain Infatuation for Minmay when he first meets her and through out most of the show. Minmay is kind of a klutz, she is really naive and oblivious to most things, and she’s always so busy with her career that it’s never really a priority to pursue any sort of relationship with Rick. (Plus she is just 16 ) Lisa and Rick always butt heads, Lisa is really intelligent and witty (behind a computer) but when she has to face something she looses all of her strengths. She ends up falling for Rick despite being a little older than him. In the end, Minmay doesn’t want to live in the spot light, she just wants a simple life with someone who she always cared for and loved (she’s about 18 or 19 at this point) but Rick ends up going with Lisa, realizing that his infatuation for Minmay was just that, and he always loved Lisa.

Ok How this all relates to me… Whilst watching this, my ex would always compare me to Minmay. He would say I look like her and was cute like her, but also that I had the same intelligence or naivety as her. (And he was indeed dissing me) it always kind of hurt but I didn’t say much about it. At first I thought this was funny, considering the fact that he would compare himself to Rick Hunter, and thought most of the anime Rick is seemingly in love with Minmay and Loathes Lisa. But, he would always compare his ex to Lisa (she was smart, independent, dedicated to “realistic” work, and she was kind of cold) until the end (which he has seen this series over and over again before) it all made sense. When I finished the anime, I felt really alone, and I related a lot to Minmay. Giving up everything you own or you are doing just to be with the person you love. For them to leave you to your own grief. And for another woman (s) .

Today, I associate with a more positive notion, that Minmay entered that contest, full of professionals and women who were stronger, smarter, wealthier and more beautiful than her,, and she still came out victor for her amazing talent. That inspired everyone! She is Miss Macross, and she forever will remain a legend. In all the new Macross sagas, she’s still referenced indirectly or explicitly. She grew up, she realized what’s important, and she’ll continue to touch people’s lives through her talent.

Sorry for the super long post, but hope you guys could get more insight to who I am I guess! And now I have a reference to whenever people ask me “why Miss Macross?” I hope you all are having a wonderful day!

“How do you like it? How do you like it? ” hahah sorry! That song has been stuck in my head all week! How has y’all’s weeks been? Mine has been very hectic, working at the vintage store is so wonderful! It keeps me so motivated to continue to do stuff when I’m not working! I’ve also had a really important meeting this week about something big! I’ll be able to tell you all later about that ☆〜(ゝ。∂) ! I’ve been also working a lot more on cosplay stuff! Which is exciting, I’m really honing my craft as a designer I feel like!

Anyways, on to my outfit! The precious Sylvia and her awesome boyfriend Kenny, stopped by the shop on Tuesday and spent a lot of time there keeping me company! We decided to take a few photos on my lunch break in and outside the shop! (Indoor ones coming soon!) I think they turned out so uber cute! I got this dress from Jet Rag Vintages 1$ Sunday Pile sales. (I get there early and wait for them to open new vintage and fight for the good stuff!) I was so happy when I got this! It was quite long, so I altered the hem to make it a baby doll and I really love the turn out! The trim and color is so feminine and amazing! Also my mom gave me these new adorable glasses that will pretty much go with EVERYTHING. In my wardrobe! I was so happy when I received them! And I think the glasses and the dress are the perfect pair!

Well I hope you all have a great Thursday! I have to clean my loft and continue to work on cosplay stuff! Talk to you soon!

Hello everyone! I know it’s been a hot minute, and I’m sorry (T ^ T) I’ve been really sick since Friday! Today I finally feel a little better! (I had to work so I didn’t give my body much rest!) so when I’m home, I try to stay in bed…

Anyways! You know how I told you about my new job? My good friend Sylvia and her boyfriend Francis (pictured above) decided to come visit me and take some photos in the shop! So I took a quick lunch break and Sylvia took some beautiful photos of Heirloom Vintage ! My boss, Masa Ono, has amazing style and taste and I think it really translates well in the way he decorated the place ! I love the Americana feel to it (I’m always playing western music in the place haha) and it just feels very comfortable.

Also! This was my first time meeting Francis! I’ve been shooting with Sylvia for awhile and she would always talk about him and show me pictures, so it was great to finally meet! They are such a cuuuuute couple! I mean not in a sappy kind of way, but the compliment eachother so well, and it’s like they are always on the same page, idk I think that’s pretty cool! And they both are really artistic and have great style! You should check out his blog! He does great menswear fashion!

Also! I was just featured in the New Cosmo Girl Indonesia!

Anyways I hope you all are having a great week! For my cosplay readers, it’s fanime this weekend and I’m sad I can’t go :( but for those of you going have a grand ol time!

Hello everyone!

How are you all doing this week? Was your Memorial Day weekend good? Get a tan? Eat some BBQ? Get intoxicated and go swimming? (Smartest combo ever) haha I didn’t do any of those things >.Allison H. and are going to instead be doing a cosplay from “Chobits” ( Allison being Chii/Elda and I being Freya) . IM SO EXCITED GUYS! But I only have 35 days to do both cosplays and finish up mine! ヽ(;▽;)ノ haha I can do it! So many photos to ensue for sure!

Anyways, on to my actual blog post! If you have been reading m blog from the past few months, Creature of Habit is nothing foreign to you. If not, I’ll tell you a little about it! Each piece is hand made from the beautiful and talented, Vanessa Walton. She has a great passion for everything pretty, ethereal and fantasy. I think it shows pretty well in her designs! I was asked to model for her spring lookbook a few months ago, and I couldn’t be more excited! This was right up my alley! I also got to meet/ hang out with/ model with Chloe Dykstra! (I’ve been E-Stalking her for the past 2 years haha) she was every bit of nerdy, beautiful and fun as I expected! And she was very kind yet confident too! Modeling with her in these photos were a lot of laughs! (As you can see in some photos) it was a really nice set! Not to mention it was Chloe’s idea to do a “lolita” theme and I freaking love lolita ! \(//∇//)\. If you haven’t checked out Vanessa’s shop, you should do so Now! and check out my other posts on Creature of habit as well!

Hi everyone! Happy Monday! I hope everyone had a great weekend! I had to work extra hard this weekend ヽ(;▽;)ノ I had 3 shoots I had to style while simultaneously working 2 days of the weekend (I count Friday) and then I had to diligently work on cosplay stuff when I got home >.

Either way, I'm waiting on some photos for things to share with you and as well as a few publications my styling work is featured in ( I have like 5 or 6 I need to share/waiting on to come out) so lots of content indeed coming up!

Anyways, about this post. I've been following Claudia's work for awhile now, ever since she shot my friend Rihanna in Mexico, I have been in love! The only thing is, is that she is based in the mid west (>人<;) so it was close to impossible to arrange a shoot. Finally she had a job out here and was able to stay for 3 days! So we for sure made a plan to shoot! The only problem was, neither of us had a car (−_−;) so I asked Scott what he was doing that day, and he decided he would also shoot and we could all go to a great location! So it was me, Claudia, Scott, Lorena (princess Lorena! ) and Lucy (Lorena's beautiful mother) and we all drove up to Vasquez rocks! (Which is where Star Trek was filmed!) so. Had the responsibility of styling two shoots, and still making sure everything went alright for Scott's shoot >.

For the clothing I wanted to do so wing kind of contrasting to the landscape, but still makes sense? So I took most of my style inspiration from the film " Walk About " (which is basically about a teenager girl and her kid brother getting stranded in the middle of the Outback (and they are in their school uniforms) and they have to fend for themselves until a teenage aborigine boy finds them and helps them survive). The colors are very primary to add to that "school girl" look, but I think it's kind of French as well. Kind of funny, but I've been listening to Iggy Azaleas Track "Work" and that lyric came into my head, and I think it's perfect since she is from Australia too (and it's descriptive to her being in Australia) .

So yeah! I hope you all liked my post! Hope it wasn't too much text :p

Hello everyone! Ahgi know, I know… ( ;´Д`) it’s been a while! Please don’t hate me! ε=ε=ε=ε=ε=ε=┌(; ̄◇ ̄)┘I’ve been so busy, which is really good! The beginning of this month was very rough, and I panicked! But thankfully I was able to book a whole lot of work on top of my normal job, and with any spare time I’ve had I’ve just been working on cosplay stuff… (Anime Expo is in 15 days!?) I’m finished with everything except the chobits cosplay (which I am making both chii and freya for… ) I’m stressed but a big project I was going to do this summer has been cancelled so I’m actually relieved ! One door closes, and others open, it’s life! (And I won’t have to neglect my blog for a month straight!) I have a few other new blog posts coming up this week so stay tuned!

Anyways! I’ve been wanting to share this outfit for awhile! I’m soooo in love with my new Le Bunny Bleu Shoes! (thanks again you guys!) I just love pastels so much and their entire shoe line is almost all pastels!! :D so I was so ecstatic when I got these babies in the mail! I love how they sort of remind me of cute heeled flats from the 80s, they are so perfect! I also got this wonderful skirt from Sheinside.com it’s so perfect for summer in LA! I reall like wearing sweaters with skirts or sweaters, and this cut makes this heavier material a lot more breathable. I do admit I get strange looks from some people when I walk around in this skirt, but I don’t care haha, I think it’s awesome! Oh! And I picked up this awesome sweater from bearcat LA and I just keep getting so many compliments on it, that heart elbow patch just catches everyone’s eyes!

Well I hope you all enjoyed my post! I promise to do another thurs or Friday! :) hope everyone has been wonderful!
